PLAYERS & FANS DESERVE BETTER - FIRE NUTT!

While I am all for fanning the flames tickling the Goober's feet, the banner might be much more effective--in the "big picture"--if it simply said: ARKANSAS PLAYERS & FANS DESERVE BETTER!

It's not like anyone isn't going to know the implication of the statement but it's not nearly as inflammatory as "Fire Nutt."  Leaving that part off would make it more difficult for the ostrich's to dismiss & dispute the banner as a ploy by people who just hate HDN.  It would be much more difficult for them to argue the players & fans don't deserve better than it would be for them to say a "Fire Nutt" banner was just a bunch of Haterz showing off.
While the idea of instilling a vigilante spirit in the fans against Dale has a certain appeal, it might be more productive to try to unite the fanbase against him rather than continuing to use tactics many fans (although certainly a lot fewer than on Friday) would reject instantly.

Also, I would think my idea would play better in the national media.  If the stunt got any airtime at all, it would be easy for the sports foofs to poke more fun at the "crackpot" Arkansas fans who want to "Fire Nutt!"  If one takes the "higher road," it makes it more difficult for them to crack wise about banner supporters, rather it presents the image that those who purchased the banner really care about the program.

Finally, leaving off the "Fire Nutt" portion implicates the entire football administration, not just Dork.  How many of us really believe Houston is talented enough to do this much damage all by his lonesome?

  Just my thoughts.

If you do this...

1. The national media WILL report it. They will report it the same way they reported the 'demonstration' earlier this year. Those of us who want HDN to leave, will be made to look bad.

2. The people who really do decide HDN's fate, will not be amused. They also will not be swayed. Well, OK...they might be swayed to stick their heels in the dirt even harder. But they aren't gonna say, 'Oh gosh! Who knew the fans felt like that! We're so glad they told us! We've got to do something NOW!'

3. Everyone who participates in this will feel better...until it's spun against us.

4. If I were a player, I wouldn't want the negative attention. We/they are getting enough attention, anyway.

5. Unless you have a really big banner, they won't be able to read anything except 'FIRE NUTT', so there's no point in editing for content.

Fly it around with a banner that says " Your fence should of been this high" or "Nothing left to Bragg about" or " Wildcat vs Wildhog  alt_angry"

Now that right there is funny.

I was thinking about the next one being more comical like:

Steef is dead on about this.  While I know intentions are well and we all want (most of us anyway) the same thing, this would do more harm than good.  I would be the most worried about how this would effect our coaching search when Nutt is gone.

Exactly. We're all mad, but come on folks, Nutt is gone after the season no matter what. It's not like this banner will get him fired mid-season. What it will do is get turned around on the fans, embarass the program nationally (again), and further plant the idea in recruit's minds that Arkansas is a joke. This idea isn't nearly as stupid as the worst protest ever, but this will not play out well.

I don't have a problem with the banner as worded because it says THE PLAYERS deserve better.  The players need to know the fans do support them.  Those of us who want Nutt gone just want the players (and us) to have a good coach.

I was okay with Nutt for a while, but his BS, excuses, mindless rah-rah-ing and blaming the players for his errors and failures got to me a long time before the soap opera began last season.

I think it will not be the fans (or "Haters" or "Darksiders") who are embarrassed, it should be the BAC and the PTB.

Maybe it will push Nutt to go ahead and announce he is leaving, so we can get a head start on searching for a new coach.  There are some negatives that could result, such as uncertainty and lack of morale among the players and ACs, but that has to be weighed against the damage Nutt (and his farce of a staff) are doing each and every day they stay.  Conversely, the staff might do more to get it together to try to pave the way for new jobs for next year.  There are always risks and benefits to everything.

Just got the flight confirmed from the company, but they had to move it up earlier in the day because KNWA has already locked in the 2 hours prior to the no-fly zone.

In exchange for the bump up in time: Instead of only flying it in the area for 15-20 minutes they're going to give us FOURTY FIVE minutes of flight time from 1:45pm to 2:30pm.

Here's a nice bonus:  The pilot is a Hog fan, knows all the areas to hit, and thinks this is great!

P.S. Florida got Urban Myer after their banners and nationally talked about "fireronzook" web site.

How about "Hog Fans support the PLAYERS" ?

It gets the message to the players that we support them, and leaves a whole lot of unsaid innuendo.  It would drive houston NUTTS!

I want Nutt gone badly, but this idea is stupid.  You are classless and immature.  This idea will make our fanbase look like even bigger morons.

I'm sure a top level coach will be chomping at the bit to get here as soon as he can so our classless fans can show their asses.

Nice.

Honestly.  What do you expect from a fan base that has been ignored, lied to, had rainbows fed up their rear end with a pressure hose, put up with TOP players being run off, and we're stuck with Mr. Mediocrity King.

Give me a break.

Keeping this bozo in the Head Coaches office for TEN FREAKIN' YEARS, letting him run off players that could have changed our national perception, and stealing the hope of Razorback Nation has done MUCH more to hurt this program than a little banner toodlin' around for a few minutes on Gameday EVER WILL.

If you believe otherwise, you're living in LA LA land.

BTW, I'm so sick to death of self righteous people throwing around the word classless.  Please come up with something new.  Nutt could write a freakin' book on the word.
